Alexander Vargas began his journey in coffee at the age of 15, working alongside his parents and learning the fundamentals of farming from the ground up. By the age of 20, he had made a clear decision to focus on specialty coffee production, and over the past two decades he has steadily refined his approach through experimentation with both varieties and processing techniques. His coffees have earned multiple national Cup of Excellence nominations, reflecting both technical precision and consistency in quality.

Las Flores stands as a model of sustainability, innovation, and commitment to excellence. Jhoan pushes boundaries, not only perfecting coffee production but also sharing knowledge with future generations. For him, every cup of coffee is an opportunity to tell a story. A story of hard work, passion, and a deep love for the land.
In 2019, Jhoan won first place in the Master of Coffee with a Pink Bourbon, competing against 162 participants. He represented the farm in South Korea, and introduced Las Flores to the global specialty coffee scene.
